Sean Millington

Sean Millington earned the nickname “Diesel” for the powerful, punishing style that made him one of the CFL’s premier running backs. The Vancouver native and Simon Fraser product was selected first overall in the 1990 CFL Draft and went on to play 194 games over 13 seasons with Edmonton, BC, Winnipeg and Toronto. He rushed for 6,086 yards, totaled 9,322 yards from scrimmage, and scored 87 touchdowns. Millington played 148 games with the BC Lions, where he captured the Most Outstanding Canadian Award twice, in 1997 and 2000, while helping the club win Grey Cup championships in 1994 and 2000. Named to three All-CFL and five divisional All-CFL teams, he also made his mark on special teams with 176 tackles, still fourth all-time. Sean Millington’s all-around excellence and remarkable versatility have earned him a lasting place in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
